Los Trancos Open Space Preserve
Los Trancos Open Space Preserve is located along the northwest side of Page Mill Road and connects Palo Alto Foothills Park with Monte Bello Open Space Preserve, allowing access all of the way to Skyline Blvd. The preserve consists of rolling grassland knolls alternating with oak woodland and cool shaded forest. On a clear day, you can spot the gleaming skyscrapers of San Francisco and pick out Mount Diablo across the bay.
The elevation in the park ranges from about 1800' to about 2200' along the upper part of Page Mill Road. There are only about 5 miles of mostly singletrack trails in the preserve; however, the preserve connects to the other parks in the South Skyline Region which gives you access to dozens of miles of additional connected trails.
